emotional freedom techniques

What is EFT?
EFT is a simple, non-intrusive, method of defusing emotional issues and reducing the level of stress most people feel in everyday life. It is not hypnotherapy or psychotherapy but is much simpler to learn and use than either of these therapies. It is in fact so simple, that you can learn how to apply it in a few minutes and use it regularly on a self-help basis whenever an emotional issue, fear or phobia occurs in your life. As well as relieving specific problems it has a cumulative effect - each issue addressed will help to reduce the overall stress level experienced. Life becomes easier and freer with every session as you lose your fears, phobias and limitations.

How Does EFT Work?
Every emotional upset you ever experience is stored in the subconscious mind. Remembering the incident or having something happen which is similar will trigger the memory and also the emotional charge which is attached to it. This manifests as an interference in the normal energy flow through the body and gives you the bad feelings.

EFT works by accessing the energy flow routes (meridians) while the interference is present i.e. while you are thinking of the issue. The techniques used in this process access different areas of the brain and work together to reduce the interference and therefore the bad feelings.
Simple issues may be cleared with one round of EFT. More complex ones may require repeat rounds with the issue being dealt with from a different perspective each time.
It is very rare for anyone to show absolutely no improvement with this technique and most people are amazed by its effectiveness.
EFT is a meridian energy therapy - just like acupuncture, it works directly on the meridian system in the body. But instead of needles, you stimulate the major meridian points by tapping on them or massaging them lightly.
EFT is a true mind/body healing technique because it combines the physical effects of meridian treatments with the mental effects of focussing on the pain or problem at the same time.
EFT is a self help protocol, designed for ease of use and so everyone can benefit from Emotional Freedom Techniques without prior knowledge about meridians.
EFT is based on a new discovery that has provided thousands with relief from pain, diseases and emotional issues. The process is easy to memorize and is portable so you can do it anywhere. The core EFT principle states:
"The cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body's energy system."
And because our physical pains and diseases are so obviously connected with our emotions the following statement has also proven to be true:
"Our unresolved negative emotions are major contributors to most physical pains and diseases."

What Are the Benefits of EFT?
  • Relief from many emotional based problems, e.g. anxiety, depression.
  • Treats phobias: from fear of flying, to insects, school, dogs, heights and many more.
  • Positive impact on many physical illnesses.
  • Relief from acute or chronic pain.
  • Live a more fulfilling life.
  • Improve your performance e.g. in sport, exams, at work, etc.
  • Self-confidence improves.
  • Successful in the treatment of many addictions.
  • Easy to learn technique making it suitable as a self-help tool.
  • Suitable for all ages, including children.
  • Control your fears, rather than the feeling they control you.

How Long Do The Results Last?
EFT is generally long lasting. Physical healings are often impressive and long lasting as well, but are more likely to re-emerge than emotional issues.

Are EFT's Results Due To Either Placebo Effects Or Distraction?
No. Placebo effects require some belief in the process which newcomers to EFT may not have. Also, although EFT may appear to be distracting, it will not work if the client is, in fact, distracted. That is why the client continually repeats a phrase, which "tunes in" to the problem.
