Allergy Testing with Health Kinesiology
Kinesiology is said to be the fastest growing complementary medicine in the country. Health Kinesiology (hk) can test for allergies easily, and in addition, has a high degree of success in treating them. In recent times, we've seen a dramatic rise in allergies and it is estimated that within the next 11 years, 50% of the people in Britain & Europe could have some kind of allergy. Even Prince Charles has been inspired to speak out on the subject. Inhalers for asthma are now commonplace in primary schools, and steroid creams for eczema are available over the counter. Allergies & health kinesiology Jimmy Scott, the founder of hk, defines an allergy as: "any energy disturbance in response to exposure to a substance. The substance can be a food, cosmetic, chemical, a pet, mould, pollen etc...." In hk we distinguish between allergy and tolerance. With allergy the body reacts to any amount of the substance. Tolerance is "the amount of the substance the body can handle without becoming stressed." You will be tested for allergies and for low tolerances. You will be tested for problem foods, additives & for problem substances in your environment e.g. personal care products, household cleaning materials, fabrics, washing powders, pollens, moulds, house dust mites, to name some of the common offenders. Nutritional requirements can be assessed, in addition to allergies, in a 75 minute appointment. How you will be tested Allergy testing with hk is a relaxing and non-invasive experience. You lie fully clothed on the couch and the practitioner applies light pressure on your lower arm. A small amount of the substance, in a tiny vial, is placed near or on your body, and your body's response is monitored through muscle-testing. What to do about your results If your allergies are uncommon foods or substances, you may chose to avoid them. If your problem foods and substances are difficult to avoid, you may chose to have them treated with hk. Treating allergies with hk is usually straight forward, and effective. Allergies are often involved with:
