Why I do what I do
There are many reasons I was drawn to becoming a counsellor but I think it boils down to being able to share space with another person and work with them to help create some deeper meaning or purpose. I value the connection it invites and opportunity for living life in a more fulfilled and peaceful way.
There are many reasons a person seeks counselling and yours will be as individual as you. I believe that counselling offers a space to explore and express what is going on in your world, at your pace, free of judgement.
My approach to counselling is about you and what you need. I work in an integrative way meaning my skills and experience can be used to meet your needs while you remain central to the counselling process. I will listen to your story and draw upon relevant counselling ideas to support your exploration. I offer both long and short term counselling and also have particular experience of working with trauma and abuse. Please take a look at my website to learn more about me.
Qualifications and experience
I have been practising for over ten years, within community-based organisations and through my own private practice. I work with adults with a range of life experiences.
I have a professional diploma in therapeutic counselling and I’m a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). This means that I meet their standard of working and adhere to their ethical framework. I hold the relevant professional insurance and I am DBS checked.
