What is EMDR?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing)EMDR is a structured therapeutic approach designed to help people process distressing or traumatic experiences that continue to affect them in the present. It is commonly used for trauma, anxiety, phobias, and persistent emotional distress. By using bilateral stimulation, such as guided eye movements, EMDR supports the brain’s natural ability to reprocess difficult memories so they become less emotionally charged. This can lead to reduced symptoms, improved emotional regulation, and a greater sense of resilience. |
