Charlotte McKenzie |
calm, compassionate, pragmaticCharlotte is professional, compassionate, and takes her time to consider what your needs are in line with a diligent medical history that she takes. This instantly put me at ease and reassured me this had the potential to work. 3 months after starting treatment, I still haven't had a migraine. I am continuing treatment once a month and I would not hesitate to recommend Charlotte. Charlotte is very professional and always adjusted the treatment to my ever-changing list of symptoms. I have found my energy has improved, my mood has improved and my anxiety has greatly reduced. Regular treatment has had a really positive impact on how I manage my condition. |
Why I do what I do
I came to study acupuncture after receiving regular treatment through a period of ill-health and was amazed by the powerful effects of acupuncture on the mind and body. I soon became fascinated by Chinese medicine and its roots in the natural world. After three years of degree-level study, I was awarded a distinction from The Acupuncture Academy in Leamington Spa. I have a professional licentiate in acupuncture and am a member of the British Acupuncture Council. I find Chinese medicine an endlessly fascinating subject and I love introducing people to this powerful, natural medicine.
I practice traditional Five Element acupuncture which is rooted in ancient Chinese medicine philosophy and techniques. Five Element acupuncture is a very gentle and effective style of acupuncture that works at a deep constitutional level to get to the root cause of symptoms and aims for lasting effects. I use a range of techniques as acupuncture is much more than needles, so treatments may include cupping, gua sha and moxibustion to add extra therapeutic benefit.
I have experience treating a wide range of conditions, both physical and mental and have a particular interest in women's health, chronic pain and mental health.
Common conditions I treat are:
Some people come for treatment as they just don't feel themselves, need some support through a difficult period in their lives or, haven't found a solution in Western medical treatments. Whatever the reason, I love supporting people back to improved health, a more balanced lifestyle, and getting to the root cause of their health concerns.
Professional organisations: I am a member of the British Acupuncture Council and the Professional Standards Authority.
