Why I do what I do
I am a professional and friendly therapist passionate about helping clients recognise what matters to them and explore who they want to be.
I have always enjoyed working with people, from all different backgrounds, and find it fascinating how unique, yet similar, we are. I supported vulnerable adults and managed support services in the voluntary sector for over 20 years before starting on my journey to become a therapist.
I worked with people dealing with a wide variety of issues, including relationship breakdown, bullying, neglect, domestic abuse, sexual exploitation, drug misuse and addiction. During this time I realised how important it is for us to really connect with each other and to create spaces to reflect and explore who we are; and also the positive impact that this has on improving our mental health and building resilience.
Professional Qualifications
Diploma in Counselling (Level 6), University of the West of England (UWE)
Essential Elements of Counselling Young People, University of the West of England (UWE)
Certificate in Counselling, University of the West of England (UWE)
MBACP – I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and work to its code of ethics.
